Jerry Sellanga, IOI's Engagement Coordinator (Networks), recently appeared on the AfricaArXiv webinar series. AfricArXiv is a community-led digital archive for African research communication. The webinar's theme was Investing in African Open Infrastructures, and this online event was part of an ongoing series focused on the discoverability of African research.
In the webinar, Jerry gave an overview of IOI's work to advance investment and adoption of open infrastructure, focusing on the African context. Specific emphasis was given to the work IOI is doing to facilitate the discovery of open infrastructures, how open infrastructure can help solve some of the development challenges in the continent, and measures IOI is taking to facilitate the creation of diversified funding mechanisms for open infrastructures in Africa and beyond.
